Tandoori Chicken with Skyr (High Protein & Healthy Recipe)

Ingredients
● 500–700 g chicken thighs


Marinade
● 1 cup Fjör Plain Skyr
● 3 tablespoons thick coconut cream
● 2 tablespoons mustard oil (or neutral oil)
● 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
● 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
● 1–2 teaspoons Kashmiri chili powder (for colour and mild heat)
● 1 teaspoon roasted cumin powder
● 1 teaspoon coriander powder
● 1 teaspoon garam masala
● 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
● 1 tablespoon lemon juice


To Serve
● Sliced red onions
● Lemon wedges
● Fresh coriander
● Basmati rice or roti
● Extra Fjör Skyr

Instructions


1. Prepare Chicken
Score the chicken thighs with a sharp knife to allow the marinade to penetrate deeply.
2. Make Marinade
In a large bowl, combine Fjör Plain Skyr, coconut cream, mustard oil, ginger-garlic paste, and all spices. Mix until
smooth and well balanced.
3. Marinate
Add the chicken and coat thoroughly, ensuring marinade gets into the cuts. Cover and refrigerate for at least 5
hours, preferably overnight.
4. Bring to Room Temperature
Remove the chicken from the refrigerator 20 minutes before cooking.
5. Preheat Oven
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and switch on the broiler
(top heat).
6. Char the Chicken
Place the marinated chicken on a foil-lined tray. Broil for 10–15 minutes until the edges begin to char.
7. Cook Through
Transfer to the oven and bake for another 10 minutes, or until fully cooked (internal temperature 75°C / 165°F).
8. Finish and Serve
Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot with onions, lemon wedges, and a side of Fjör Skyr.
